One of our relatives opened a mini-grocery store in the year 1996. It was located near to our house, so almost everyday I was in their store. The mini- grocery served as a meeting place for my cousins and other friends. We love to stay there, eat, and have fun. When there are many customers, I usually avail myself to help them.

One of the things I learned in that mini- grocery was on how to use the cash register or what they commonly call now as POS Retail System. I felt like a saleslady in a big department store whenever I am assigned to be the cashier for the day.

After a few years, the family decided to close the mini-grocery because of some other priorities. Even though it was closed, the good memories I had from that store will always be remembered. That store was not just purely business but it served as a blessing to many families in the community.

I love the color white. It looks neat and it goes with all types of skin tone. When it comes to clothes, I like white tops because it feels cool especially on humid atmosphere. Even though  I’m clumsy at times, I still enjoy wearing whites.

I was able to join a seminar a week ago about handling finances in the family. Usually, we ran out of money and resources because one of our major mistakes is we never set aside a sum of money as our emergency fund or as our savings. Even if how limited our resources are, we need to save for the future.

One wise investment also in preparation for the future is through life insurance. It is a form of savings to protect your family and loved one after one’s death. Basically, a life insurance is an opportunity to help your family.

In today’s economic crisis, saving a sum of money for the future would be the last priority for some. However, it is very important that no matter what our financial status today, we need to learn how to save because we will never know what the future holds us.

I saw my cousin’s status and it has lots of hearts, music notes and other symbols. It looks like this …

“I’m in Love ♥ ♥♥”

“I’m happy today!  ♫ ♫

“It’s a happy day! ☼

I find it cute and I got curious  how to do it. My cousin laughed at me because I don’t how to do it, so she taught me how to make Facebook symbols one by one.

Here’s how to do it:

The secret is on using the ALT key on your keyboard.

Hold ‘alt’ then type 1 – ☺Hold ‘alt’ then type 2 – ☻

Hold ‘alt’ then type 3 – ♥

Hold ‘alt’ then type 4 – ♦

Hold ‘alt’ then type 5 – ♣

Hold ‘alt’ then type 6 – ♠

Hold ‘alt’ then type 7 – •

Hold ‘alt’ then type 8 – ◘

Hold ‘alt’ then type 9 – ○

Hold ‘alt’ then type 10 – ◙

Hold ‘alt’ then type 11 – ♂

Hold ‘alt’ then type 12 – ♀

Hold ‘alt’ then type 13 – ♪

Hold ‘alt’ then type 14 – ♫

Hold ‘alt’ then type 15 – ☼

Hold ‘alt’ then type 16 – ►

Hold ‘alt’ then type 17 – ◄

Hold ‘alt’ then type 18 – ↕

Hold ‘alt’ then type 19 – ‼ (it’s one character!)

Hold ‘alt’ then type 20 – ¶

These might won’t work with you but if you’re having difficulty you might just want to copy these Facebook symbols and paste it on your status. :)

My nephew will be turning 1 year old this November and I’m planning to make great baby gifts for him. But with my busy schedule, I think I won’t be able to make one for him. But I will try my very best to find time because I want my gift to be personalized.

I’ve searched online and the following are great baby gift ideas I might consider for my nephew’s birthday.

• A photo album or a photo frame which records the baby’s milestones.
• A personalized alphabet blanket with the baby’s name on it.
• Personalized teddies and toys.
• A baby bath or hamper full of lotions, powder, face washers – things that we use all the time before and after baths.
• Personalized Jewelries
• Bible Story Books

Which one do you think is a great gift for my nephew? I hope I can now find an item that suits perfectly for him.
